Oxford Economics Summer School

The courses that are part of the summer school are taught at graduate level Economics; the course material is aimed at those completing a PhD at other institutions. We expect you to have some understanding of the topics before attending the course. For some courses, a basic level of coding will also be useful.

Although we expect you to have a good level of understanding, we will allow anyone over the age of 18 to register. If you attend the course without a good level of understanding of the topics, you may find you are not able to participate fully during sessions. Suggested further reading will be provided to confirmed participants before the start of the summer school.

Participants must be over the age of 18 when registering for the summer school. Any registrations for attendees under 18 years of age will be notified and refunded.

You can register for a place on the course by completing this registration form. Once this has been completed, you will receive a link to pay the course fee deposit straight away.

We require both your registration form and payment in order to confirm your place on the course. Once we have received both registration and payment and a tutor confirms your suitability for the course, we will send a confirmation email and letter with further details about the course. Accommodation is not included in the the course fees, however we can help you to source accommodation if required.

Unfortunately, we are not able to offer any funding or discounts for the summer school this year. We recommend contacting your home institution for any opportunities they may have or external funding suppliers.

If your institution is paying on your behalf, please contact us at summerschools@economics.ox.ac.uk once you have completed your registration form for the Summer School. Institutions are required to pay via online stores on behalf of course participants.

Once paid, online stores will provide a confirmation of payment and receipt. We are not able to change any information on these documents, so please ensure any details needed on the receipt are entered into online stores when paying.

Once you have paid via online stores, you will receive confirmation of payment via email, and a receipt of payment. Please ensure you enter any details needed for reimbursement when completing your payment.

Yes, we will be live streaming all of our courses via Zoom. We do not record the summer school, so participants must be able to join at the scheduled times. In order to give online participants an interactive participation, our hybrid system allows online and in-person participants to chat with each other and the tutors. Watching recordings means participants would not get the full experience.

Online fees are the same as the in-person fees.

If you need to cancel your place, please refer to the cancellation section of the terms and conditions page on our website. Please email us at summerschools@economics.ox.ac.uk to cancel your place.
